PEI's agentic AI
software engineer.

I'm Brad Pineau. I've been building software from Charlottetown for 25 years: clinical systems used across North America, a tech company acquired and grown right here, four software patents along the way. Now I build with agentic AI every day, for Island businesses and clients worldwide.

Island roots

Local isn't a marketing angle. It's the resume.

I started at Timeless Technologies in Charlottetown as a UPEI co-op student in 2001. In 2007 a partner and I acquired the company, and as CTO I spent a decade building medical and veterinary software from PEI that hospitals across North America still rely on.

I founded Pineau Labs in 2017 as an independent software company. These days the work is agentic AI: I build my own products with it, like Fitly AI, run fixed-price sprints for clients, and give talks on AI-assisted development, including to a Veterans Affairs Canada team here in Charlottetown.

Most of my client work comes from away. I'd like more of it to come from the Island. If you run a PEI business and you've been wondering what AI can actually do for it, I'm the neighbour to ask.

What Island businesses use me for.

Every engagement is a fixed-price sprint, scoped over email. Prices shown are typical; a simpler build costs less.

Why this fits the Island

Built for how small businesses actually work.

You don't have a procurement department or a spare afternoon for vendor meetings. This model was built for that.

Fixed prices, quoted upfront

A written scope before any work starts. No agency retainer, no hourly surprises.

Everything over email

Regular progress updates over email. No meetings your week can't afford.

Atlantic time

Same time zone as you. No waiting overnight for a reply from another continent.

You own everything from day one

The code, the accounts, the infrastructure. Any developer can take over.

Building software in PEI often comes with real support: programs from Innovation PEI and NRC IRAP can offset development costs for eligible businesses. If you're not sure where to start, ask and I'll point you in the right direction.

Tell me what you're building on the Island.

Email me what you're working on and I'll come back with an honest read: which sprint fits, what it'd cost, and whether it's worth doing at all. No pitch, no sales calls.
